SEA-WI Project Tours in Madison’s Capitol East District:
The Gebhardt Building, The Sylvee, and The Spark

March 15, 2018 at 3:30pm

The Capitol East District in Madison is quickly becoming one of the most desirable neighborhoods for business and entertainment.  SEA-WI members will have a chance to tour one of the most intruiging new developments in this area while it is still under construction.  Located across the street from The Constellation and Galaxie developments, the construction zone we’ll be visiting includes two separate job sites.  First, Miron Construction will lead us through the 40,000 SF concert venue being created for Frank Productions with a capacity for 2,500 people.  Behind the concert venue, to be known as “The Sylvee”, Miron is also constructing a four-story office building known as The Gebhardt Building, to include an additional 100,000 SF of office and retail space, such as a new Vintage Brewing Co. restaurant and bar planned for the ground floor.  We’ll then transition over to Findorff’s adjacent project known as The Spark, and take a tour of the eight-story, 158,000 SF office building being developed by American Family Insurance, which will also include space for the entrepreneurial collaborative space known as StartingBlock.

Please meet at the Miron job trailer at the corner of East Washington Avenue and Livingston Street at 3:30PM.  PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, steel-toed boots, and high-visibility vest.  Street parking is available for free along the surrounding side streets, although please allow adequate time to find parking and get over to the site. The tour will include a brief presentation by the structural engineers for both projects (Fink Horejsh for the Sylvee/Gebhardt Building project and Pierce Engineers for The Spark).

Reserve your spot quickly, as space will be limited to the first 20 people who sign up!
